Dear Member and Friend
I wanted
to update you with this short, personal newsletter, so
that it may focus our minds on the great issues at stake on 23rd May.
We are all frustrated, tired of the endless delays to Brexit, me perhaps
more than most. But, it is important to understand how we got here and, together,
decide what is best for Britain, at the elections and for our future.
Stand your ground for
BREXIT and vote CONSERVATIVE
· I campaigned with Dan Hannan for over a decade to give us a
referendum on the EU; ·
That referendum result demanded, in
unprecedented, historic numbers - Brexit; ·
The Conservatives went to the country to increase
the majority in the House of Commons; ·
Sadly, our majority was reduced, making Brexit
more difficult than ever to deliver on; ·
89% of Conservative MPs have voted for a Brexit
deal in the House of Commons. And only 2% of Labour MPs; ·
Labour and the Liberals are clearly parties of
Remain, subverting or outright denying the largest people’s vote in our history. Vote
Conservative 23rd May because: ·
Conservative MEPs are needed to protect British interests. While we are
still actually in the EU, we remain subject to EU laws; ·
Only the Conservatives can get Brexit through the House of Commons.
Labour and the LibDems continue to oppose and obstruct it at every turn; ·
We
need Conservative MEPs to push our democratically determined decision through
the European Parliament. Vote Conservative
on 23rd May and NOT the Brexit Party:
·
The so-called Brexit Party has zero representation in the House of
Commons. A vote for them will not make
any difference to Brexit; ·
Voting against the governing party will weaken our negotiating hand and
enable Brussels to play divide and conquer. Vote
Conservative on 23rd May to stop Labour:
·
Labour is the party of a second referendum; holding Brexit voters in
contempt; ·
Labour has no alternative deal; ·
A vote for the Brexit Party or Labour brings Corbyn, and his regressive
brand of socialism, closer to number 10. The
Conservatives are the only party who can deliver a strong post-Brexit future
and:
·
Maintain a strong and disciplined economy; ·
Provide financial stability and bring foreign investment to Britain; ·
Protect Britain from all forms of threat; ·
Control our borders and manage our immigration; ·
Increase NHS investment to £394 million extra a week - £20.5 billion a
year; ·
Foster enterprise and global free trade; ·
Continue to maintain the highest rates of employment ever.
