Call for 2024 - 2027 Board of Directors Member

Each member of the board plays an integral role in furthering the mission of NGLA. Our continued success depends upon the personal commitment and dedication of a select group of individuals who understand the privileges and obligations of leadership. The Association is currently accepting applications for the Board of Directors. Qualified applicants are those with association and/or organizational leadership experience and who are committed to the fraternal movement.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Support and advance the Association’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and related initiatives.

  • Achieve substantive progress on assigned area(s) of strategic action each year.

  • Supervise committee(s) and/or workgroup(s) as requested by the Executive Director.

  • Support and empower volunteers, providing feedback where/when appropriate.

  • Demonstrate an active commitment to the operations of the Association.

  • Promote the Association and its programs and services.

  • Maintain confidentiality of the Board of Director’s meetings, and speak for the Association only when authorized to do so.

  • Board members serve a 3-year term with eligibility for reappointment. Board members may serve a maximum of 3 terms.

  • MEETINGS AND OTHER INVOLVEMENT

  • Prepare for and participate in monthly conference calls with the Executive Director.

  • Attend the NGLA Annual Conference. Refer to Future Conference Dates.

  • Participate in meetings of the Board of Directors, including the Summer Meeting in June or July, location to be determined by April.

  • Attend activities and events sponsored by the Association whenever possible.
