We say “FAFSA,” and you say “#$%&*”

Could it be any more of a sign that “FAFSA DAY” falls during the same month as Halloween, since both send chills up and down the spines of parents of high school seniors? No need to really have a meltdown! We collected the most-asked FAFSA questions from the parents in our Paying For College 101Facebook group…we answered them, and threw in a few basic FAQs as well in FAFSA FAQs: Answers To Your FAFSA Questions just to make things less scary for everyone.

And if you have not yet purchased your Halloween candy…go heavy on the Peanut Butter Cups and Snickers, and eighty-six the Necco Wafers and Smarties.

Common App Essay Writing: Trick or Treat?

The thing that fills college seniors with fear even more than the FAFSA terrorizes their parents, is writing their Common App essay. But it doesn’t have to be that way! Tips for Your College Admission Common App Essay offers just that, tips on structure, formatting, how to choose a topic, and more, so that the fear is taken away and what’s left is a student who is all set on confidently introducing himself to his prospective school(s)…with his words.

WAYS WE CAN HELP...

We recently organized and recorded online workshops on FAFSA and CSS Profile. If you were unable to attend live, you can still get a copy of the recordings, which are extremely informative.

Our CSS Profile workshop was lead by a financial aid officer from a college that requires the CSS Profile form. Our FAFSA workshop was lead by a professional college funding expert.
