In either case, here are the highlights of what we talked about:

(1) Finalize Your Student's Testing Plan
  • There's still time to take tests another time, if that's what your student wants, but try to get all testing done by October at the latest.
  • There are plenty of test optional schools to consider - check out www.fairtest.org for a list.
(2) Understand the College Money Landscape
  • Understand which schools only give money for families with need, which schools offer merit schools, which schools are need blind and which schools are need aware.
  • A school's net price calculator is a good place to start, though they may not be completely accurate, they will give you a ballpark idea of what a school will cost you.
  • Understand your budget BEFORE your chid gets too attached to any school in particular.
(3) Master College Essays & Applications
  • Essay questions for the Personal Statement are available right now. Google "Common App Essay Questions."
  • Use the summer to work on your essays. (This will make you and your student's life easier.)
(4) Create an Efficient and Realistic College List
  • Make sure the list is balanced so you don't have admission disappointment.
  • Love every school on the list, your student may end up attending.
  • "The list drives everything!" The list will determine deadlines, tests that need to be taken, essays and most important potential money your family may receive.
(5) Visit Colleges (online and in person)
  • If you can't get to a campus or want to check out another aspect of a school, your student can find many good videos about individual schools on Youtube.
  • Find out your student's admissions rep and get their contact information.

The information above (and there's more in the FB Live) just scratches the surface of what you need to know.

And it's just a sample of the topics covered in our Concierge Service.

Enrollment is open till midnight, Monday, May 27th.

We're offering 2 versions of our Concierge Services:

If you have a current 11th grader, sign up for our Concierge Premium Service.

If you have a current 9th or 10th grader, sign up for our Concierge JV Service.

We've been running both services since March and here's just a sample of what current Concierge families have to say...

Here's one more comment from a Concierge family...

"I don't have the time or patience to read all the books and information out there. I like having someone guide my family through the process."

Getting expert guidance and advice can improve your family's chances of success and especially of finding an affordable college.

And with the right support, the process can even be enjoyable!

We hope to see you and your family in our Concierge Service.

The first session starts June 5th!
