Selective Service: Not a Direct Path to Boot Camp or Stress City

When many parents hear "Selective Service," they immediately think "Boot Camp," but that's not true.

Yes, young men are required by law to register within 30 days of their 18th birthday, but it doesn't mean that by doing so they're signing up to serve in the military.

What IS true is that failing to register can result in a number of penalties and can also interfere with a student's ability to receive federal financial aid.
