It's Almost Autumn: Don't "Fall" Behind on Your Supplemental Essay Writing!

We're not going to say it...okay, we will...

As if things couldn't get more hectic, in addition to the main personal statement for the Common Application and/or Coalition Application many schools include their own school-specific essays, also known as supplemental essays. These are additional pieces of writing that give admissions officers the chance to get to know you better.

The good news is that these writing supplements are usually shorter than the main college essay, the not-so-good news is that they’re no less important, so they ARE important!

According to a recent College Ave Student Loans survey of undergraduates, families rely on scholarships and grants more than any other way to cover college costs.

If your student can receive some merit scholarships, more power to him/her! But, there are many parents and students who say "don't discount private scholarships!"
