Greetings!

The Road TO College may have been a well-traveled path for your family, but College LifePaying For College and Beyond is a world in which you still reside.

This newsletter will focus on that new road. You will find us in our mailbox two times a month, and we hope you will allow us to join you on this new journey.

Period of Adjustment
Freshman year opens up a huge window of opportunity for self-exploration and acclimation. Sometimes the view from that window will be sunny, and sometimes clouds will be part of that view.

Reminding your student to plan for all kinds of “weather” during that first year is a good strategy. Advice For College Freshmen, Adjusting Takes Time will help you help them.
The Taxman’s Taken All My Dough
NO ONE looks forward to taxes...not paying them, and certainly not discussing them. But, the news regarding taxes isn’t all bad.

In fact, when you have students in college, the American Opportunity Credit can give you money back and directly reduce how much you owe. Now THAT is something we’d like to discuss.

Don't Be Late!

If you still need funds to pay the college bill, it's still possible to act fast and get what you need. Check out these lenders. Some rates may have even declined.

As a reminder, students should always access their federal student loans first, before borrowing from private lenders. Interest rates on federal student loans are generally the lowest rates students can find without a cosigner.
