It’s hard to believe that the words “college” and “generous” can ever appear together in the same sentence, let alone the same thought, but they can…if you know where to look.
There's lots of data available to help families narrow the search to "generous" colleges but it takes time and diligence to gather it all together.
No worries though, we've done the hard work for you.
Our College Data Spreadsheet combines data from each college's Common Data Set, government data sources, and information we've compiled ourselves, into one resource.
The Spreadsheet can easily answer the question of: "At which schools is my student in the top 25th percentile? And which of these schools offer the most merit aid?"
If that wasn't enough, we also created the College Free Money Finder, which gives access to specific college scholarship information.
For example, did you know the University of Alabama offers generous scholarships to out of state students?
Here's their Capstone Scholarships - "A student with a 27 ACT or 1260-1290 SAT score and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Capstone Scholar and will receive $24,000 over four years ($6,000 per year)."
The College Free Money Finder has a database of over 1200 of these types of college scholarships.
