ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR FINDING MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
TO KICK OFF OUR NEW TOOLKIT FOR MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS, WE'RE HAVING A WEBINAR TO WALK THROUGH HOW TO USE THESE RESOURCES, STEP BY STEP!
Wednesday, April 4th 8:30PM EST.

For parents with students in 9th, 10th, and especially 11th grade - This is my last reminder for Wednesday's webinar on How To Find Merit Scholarships using the tools from our new Merit Scholarship Toolkit.

The Merit Scholarship Toolkit includes two unique and valuable resources...

1. A College Data Spreadsheet, with data on financial aid, gradution, admissions, merit scholarships, student loans, and more for over 1500 four-year colleges, including Common Data Set information.

2. Access to a new database of over 11,000 college specific merit scholarships.

If you decide to purchase the Merit Scholarship Toolkit, you'll be able to join me in a masterclass showing you step by step how you can find colleges more likely to offer your student merit scholarships.

PAY IT FORWARD & SHARE YOUR STUDENT'S COLLEGE RESULTS
As of now, most families should have received all the merit scholarship and need based aid information from the colleges their student applied to. If you're willing to share this information (anonymously), I've created a google form to collect information on the schools where your student was accepted, the amount of need and/or merit aid you were offered, along with some basic stats like GPA, test scores, state of residency, and gender.

Please share your information. It's so helpful to families that have yet to go through this process. In addition to purely collecting the information, if we receive enough, we'll do some interesting analysis with it too.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS GRADE BY GRADE: WHAT TO DO NOW.....
12th Grade...Applications are in, now turn your attention to the final details of how you'll be paying for college. Do you have enough resources to cover what's left after financial aid and scholarships? If there's the potential your student needs a loan, start understanding interest rates and what it means to cosign a student loan. Use our calculator to compare the all the numbers to choose the best loan offer.

For those considering whether they should appeal financial aid offers their student received, consider the advice from Jodi Okun, a financial aid expert on the 5 criteria she uses to determine if you should appeal.

11th Grade...College fairs are popular in spring. Attending a college fair is a great way to get information from many colleges and meet their reps, all in one place. Review our college fair tips tips to make sure your student is prepared to make a great impression.
