Financial Literacy Month
April, in addition to being what seems a lot like March, differentiates itself by being Financial Literacy Month.

These days (and weeks, and months) at home offer up a good opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with the basic terms and aspects of the College Admissions/Financial Aid process.

On the loan front, understanding federal subsidized and unsubsidized loans will help you when figuring out your family’s financial status.

Hail Upperclassman... Hang Tough!
High school juniors and seniors will assuredly be impacted the most from the pandemic. 

We know seniors are missing out on lots of milestones, like prom and graduation, but the status of their freshman year of college could also take a hit. 

Juniors will have to consider which schools will be going test-optional (spoiler alert: A LOT).

We recently spoke with Jeff Selingo and Michael Horn, two experts in the field of higher ed, and their perspectives and take on the situation were very illuminating.


And here’s what juniors should be aware of for the next admissions cycle.
What’s We're Buying On the Road...
There really isn’t much shopping being done around here, other than for the essentials, like food and, yes, we’re going to say it...toilet paper, but a parent in our Paying For College 101 Facebook group recently mentioned another item her son couldn’t do without. 

When there are multiple kids at home together (supposedly) studying, reading, and doing whatever else they’re doing, the ones who are REALLY trying to do work are becoming frustrated. 

That’s why noise-cancelling headphones might be just what they need to help them concentrate. And tune out their siblings.
