All of Me Wants All of You, Holistically

"Don't worry about your grades," said no parent ever. But, they may just start, considering colleges and universities are moving away from seeing applicants only as test scores and grade point averages (GPA).

Instead, holistic admissions are becoming the norm. Don't have your kids throw away their books just yet; the traditional stats are still important.

The whole student however, is being looked at as well.

Do We Speak the Same GPA "Language?"

The only thing worse than working at getting your GPA up and keeping it up is figuring out how individual colleges will translate/calculate it.

The process involves averaging course grades and considering the credits obtained for each course.

And then there's the issue of weighted and unweighted classes.

To complicate matters, most schools have their own methods. Frustrating, for sure.

Learn more about the calculations here, so you'll all be comparing pommes with pommes.

How to Appeal Financial Aid and Merit Scholarships

We know that some acceptances have come in and others will continue to roll in as the months go by. Following them will be financial aid packages and word of any scholarships that will be awarded.

Knowing whether you should or can appeal these awards is very important. As is knowing how to go about it.

Join us for a how-to on the details of a process that could very well bring you much-needed additional funds.

Mark your calendars. We'll be sending the FB Live link next week.
(We're trying to plan ahead but FB won't let us schedule a Live more than 7 days in advance - ugh!)

How Much Does College REALLY Cost?

Author Ron Lieber will join us to answer this question and talk about his upcoming book, "The Price You Pay for College."

We're giving you an early heads-up, because we know you will not want to miss this discussion.

Join us and Ron: January 31st at 8:30pm ET

(You can pre-order Ron's book here.)

Give a Little, Get A Lot

For the past two years we've worked together as a community to crowdsource and share our student's acceptances, need-based aid, and merit scholarship offers.

This year, more than ever, it's important to see how colleges are awarding financial aid and merit scholarships, and how test scores (or no test scores) are impacting these outcomes.

Early and rolling acceptances are arriving for the 2021-2022 school year, along with financial aid and merit scholarship offers.

Our updated free tool, COMPARE COLLEGE OFFERS (CCO) is live!
If your student has received offers from colleges, please use the tool to compare your offers and see what other students at the same colleges received.

Over the next few weeks and months, additional college offers will be added from this year's admissions season.

I'm excited to see us all work together, share our information and help clear up the mystery of the admissions and paying for college process.

My goal is to provide affordable services, insightful information and a support system so your family can make more informed decisions about college.
