Something For Everyone
Rising Seniors: Why is your EFC so important? And essay help is here!
Everyone Else: How to use the PSAT.

Why Is Your EFC So IMPT?
As you go through the college admissions process, a lot of acronyms will be thrown your way.

EFC may be one of the most detested, but it will also be one of the most critical ones to understand. The Expected Family Contribution is usually the minimum a college expects a family to pay. And many times, families will pay much more.

What’s the Point of Knowing Your EFC will get more specific, and you’ll even learn about NPCs and COAs.
Alphabet Soup
In addition to being a “practice” test, the PSAT can also be thought of as the springboard that can propel you into the “shark-infested” college admissions waters. Don’t be afraid! Dive in and use those scores as a motor, not a lead weight.

How to Use PSAT Scores to Create a Plan will help you understand your scores and learn how they can be used to provide you with the types of colleges you can and should consider.
What’s Up Ahead on The Road…
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Prompt to help you and your students through the college essay crunch!

Our experience running just a few essay workshops with Prompt last year was so valuable for our families that we are offering even more this year.

Here are 2 ways you can work with Prompt:

Sign up for a “Get It Done” Essay Workshop. These are efficient, 90-minute workshops for you and your student. Limited to 35 families.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 28th at 8:30pm EST

Here’s what you will get from the “Get it Done” Essay Workshop:
  • An understanding of what colleges are looking for in an essay
  • Brainstorming and topic help (plus additional content to use on supplemental essays)
  • An outline for the Common App Essay
  • One review of your student’s Common App Essay
One essay review is normally $75 but for a special price of $50, you and your student can attend the workshop AND receive a personal review of their essay!

If your student needs more personal guidance, sign up for a one-on-one video coaching call. These 50-minute calls will help your student get started with their essays by helping them identify a topic and guiding them to create an outline.
