Spoiler Alert: The Most Important Place on Campus is NOT the Dining Hall

Sure, the dining hall ranks up there with the Student Union and campus bookstore, but none of those spots are going to bring home the goods.

That is, help your student and reduce the stress of finding a job after graduating while making the transition out of college smoother.

That would be the College Career Services office.

It's a lot like the "dowry" a college brings to the relationship, and if any college your student is interested in doesn't offer a good enough dowry, that "marriage" should not happen.

Here's what to look for when researching a school's CCS office.

Everything I Learned About Student Loans Was After I Got Them

It takes a big person to admit that they were wrong...especially when it's a financial blogger talking about student loans.

Luckily, this (now) expert shares his mistakes with others so that they don't make the same mistakes he made way back when.

Cheers and Salutations!

Now that Decision Day, May 1st has come and gone, one parent from our Paying For College 101 Facebook group reminds us that not everyone's path is the same, and not everyone's journey takes place at the same time.
We honor and celebrate them all, regardless.

Cheers to the parents and kids who did NOT actually have a big decision day yet.
To those who decided to take a gap,
To those who decided to get a job,
To those who decided to volunteer,
To those who decided to enlist or join the Guard or Reserves,
To those who decided to apprentice a trade,
To those who decided to care for sick loved ones during this awful time,
To those who decided to change their minds about where they wanted to attend and sent in more rolling apps,
and
To those who are lost and just don’t know.
You are making the right choice for you (even if you don’t know what that choice is yet).

WHERE can you find schools that will offer your student merit money?

If you don't think you'll get financial aid but you can't afford to pay the college sticker price then the key to making college more affordable is finding schools that can offer your student MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS.

Our new tool SIMPLIFIES the search.

Enter your student's stats and preferences to get a list of colleges (in just seconds) where YOUR student is likely to receive merit scholarships.
And while you're at it, you can sort, filter, and compare colleges based on:
- Early Decision Admission Rates
- Early Action Admission Rates
- Regular Decision Admission Rates
- Coop & Honors Programs
- Tuition, Room & Board
- Endowment per Student
- and MORE!

By the way, you can also review actual college offers, given to students, from the past two years! So you can see who really got money, what state they were from, and what their stats were.

My goal is to provide affordable services, insightful information and a support system so your family can make more informed decisions about college.
