Education Is Power!
Now that you’ve had a few days of our 5-Day Borrowing &
Lending Series under your belt, we hope you’re feeling empowered with your newfound cache of knowledge.

First there was Day 1: Budgeting*
And then there was Day 2: Finding Your Student Loan MIx*
And then there was Day 3: Features of Student Loans*
And then Day 4: Student Loans Without a Cosigner*

And as we head into Day 5, we are excited to welcome Keith Babich of CommonBond.

Now that you are “pros” in the Student Loan arena, Keith will help you put everything you’ve learned into perspective and guide you to formulate a plan and make an educated decision about your family’s financial future.

Your takeaway will be the comfort of knowing this will work for YOUR family, specifically.

As an extra bonus, here’s some “pre-game” material to read before you meet with Keith.

In "How To Compare Your Loan Options" Keith guides families to carefully think about what items matter most to them, then compare loan options in light of your family’s finances, and choose loans that meet as much of your must-have criteria as possible.

As part of the research we've been encouraging you to do, take a look at CommonBond's competitive student loan rates:

Variable I 3.74% - 9.72% *    Fixed I 5.45-9.74*

A big THANKS! to CommonBond for sponsoring Day 5 of our Borrowing & Lending Education Series.

"Can my student get a loan without a parent as a cosigner?"

It's our #1 question when it comes to loans. And I don't blame parents for asking.

Until recently, there weren't many companies trying to address this issue, but it's been Jeannie Tarkenton's driving mission for starting Funding U

Funding U offers student loans without cosigners. 80% of their loans go to college juniors and seniors, and 20% to freshman and sophomores.

Students are initially screened by their GPA and the 6 year graduation rate of their college. Here are the specifics of what students need:

Entering Freshman: 3.5 GPA and 85%+ 6 year graduation rate
Rising Sophomore: 3.0GPA and 70%+ 6 year graduation rate
Rising Junior/Senior: 2.5 GPA and 50%+ 6 year graduation rate

Funding U can now lend in 30 states, with 5 more bigs ones expected to come on board soon (CA, IL, Mi, TX, OH).

As of now, the maximum loan is $10,000.

New borrowers can apply starting July 1st and you can sign up to be notified as soon as applications are open.
