Paul Smerda, the Senior Manager at WEDC’s European Trade
Representative will be coming to the New North Region on January 30th
to give an update with companies interested in the European business
opportunities and potentially joining WEDC’s trade venture to Germany in
June. Paul is based in Berlin and covers Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain,
and Central Europe and Scandinavia. |

INCOTERMS 2020
Gain
a thorough overview from an experienced trade consultant of Incoterms 2020, the
update to the International Commercial Terms.

Incoterms are updated every 10
years and reviewed regularly by the International Chamber of Commerce to ensure
they reflect the changing commercial environment. Those new to Incoterms, as
well as those looking for a refresher, will become armed with enough knowledge
to support the development of a corporate Incoterms policy. Topics covered

Incoterms define the responsibilities and obligations of buyers and sellers

impact on transportation, insurance, and risk for both international and

Navigating Choppy Waters
To Do Business Overseas At least 200,000 Wisconsin workers have jobs tied to exports or
foreign direct investments. Learn more about how Wisconsin companies can
increase exports and attract global investment at the Tuesday, Feb. 4 meeting
of the Tech Council Innovation Network in Appleton.
The luncheon will be held at the Fox Valley Technical College D.J. Bordini
Center, 5 N. Systems Drive, conference center BC112B. Registration begins at
11:30 a.m., lunch at noon and the presentation at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10
for students and returning veterans, $25 for individual members, $35 for
non-members and included for Tech Council corporate members.
