Encourage Educational Attainment SASD and Lakeland team up to offer free associate degrees to SASD students SHEBOYGAN SUN SHEBOYGAN – The Sheboygan Area School District and Lakeland University have signed an agreement to offer free college coursework to eligible SASD students and teachers, and free associate degrees to students.
The partnership gives SASD students free access to Lakeland Concurrent Academic Progress Program courses, meaning they can earn high school and college credit simultaneously. They can also earn up to 15 credits for workplace learning through Lakeland’s Cooperative Education program.
After earning enough college credits, SASD students will be able to graduate with both a high school diploma and a Lakeland Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. This will make them eligible to enroll at Lakeland or another university as a junior in their first year, thus saving two years of college expenses. Lakeland will be SASD’s exclusive provider of associate degrees as part of the three-year agreement...

Expansion and Business Development in the New North Oshkosh development project hits milestone WLUK OSHKOSH -- The final truss was added to the new apartment building in Oshkosh on Wednesday during a topping out ceremony. The Mackson Corners apartment building will have 74 units and is located along the Fox River. Construction for Mackson Corners began last October, but the project has been four years in the making. The building is part of a $15 million project. The building is the second phase of the larger Marion Road redevelopment plan. WAUPUN -- After 4 years and more than 8,000 hours of studying, 9 inmates at the Waupun Correctional Institution turned their tassels officially declaring them Trinity International University graduates Wednesday.
The graduates, who are inmates serving 10 or more years, are now equipped to serve the correctional community with a BA in Biblical Studies and a minor in Psychology.
Now, graduate Robert Alexander said this is an accomplishment he never expected for himself. The 42-year-old is serving a prison sentence at the Waupun Correctional Institution for a string of felony crimes that will see him incarcerated until 2030.

About 130 Ocean Navigator cruise ship passengers will have the opportunity to visit Sturgeon Bay this Friday. Destination Sturgeon Bay is organizing welcome bags and will greet the visitors at Graham Park as they browse the waterfront before leaving at 6 pm. Executive Director Cameryn Ehlers-Kwaterski says the business community will be getting involved and benefit from the brief stopover by the cruise ship. The 290-foot vessel had previously docked in Green Bay and came through the Sturgeon Bay canal earlier this month on a return voyage but did not dock in the city. It will stay in Green Bay again on Thursday night before returning to the Great Lakes Friday evening....

GREEN BAY -- The Ocean Navigator cruise ship has returned to Green Bay for its second and final call of the year to the port.
The ship, operated by American Queen Voyages, docks at 7 a.m. at Leicht Memorial Park.
The ship has about 200 passengers and crew members. Passengers will take part in a tour of the Neville Public Museum, Lambeau Field, the Automobile Gallery, and the National Railroad Museum. They will then be free to explore the Green Bay area on their own.
The ship will be docked at the park until 7 a.m. on Friday, July 1....
