Encourage Educational Attainment Omro High School wins national prize for robot that tests ice safety in Samsung contest Oshkosh Northwestern A team of students from Omro High School has secured a national prize for their robotics project.
The Samsung Solve For Tomorrow Contest challenged students to find a creative solution to a local issue using science, technology, engineering and math — often shortened to “STEM” — for the chance to win $100,000 in technology for their school.
Their main goal is to encourage involvement in STEM and demonstrate that it can be used in real-world situations, all while building essential teamwork and leadership skills, according to the contest website.
In a virtual awards ceremony on June 4, contest officials named five national winners, including Rob Turner’s science class at Omro High School.
