Decades later, Bob Anderson continues to make a living as the world’s only full-time garden kaleidoscope maker. This week in Small Towns, we travel to Sturgeon Bay to check out these amazing pieces of art.
“This is my newest kaleidoscope I made. It involves forging metal,” says Bob while giving us a tour of one of his many garden areas.

Georgia-Pacific’s 1915 Studios accelerator program in northeast Wisconsin is recruiting startups for its next cohort, due to kick off in September.
The program was launched last year by the Atlanta-based pulp and paper company in partnership with startup accelerator gener8tor. Georgia-Pacific has seven Wisconsin facilities spread across Green Bay, Oshkosh, Sheboygan and Neenah, and employs around 2,000 people in the state.
“We really want to support the startup community in northeast Wisconsin,” Georgia-Pacific executive Dave Hahn said yesterday during the New North Summit at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. “We believe this will help attract and hold talent to this area. We also believe in giving back to the community by way of overall economic development.”...

GREEN BAY – If you’ve cringed at a horrible smell or jumped when hearing a loud noise, you have experienced sensory issues. For most people, it is a temporary discomfort. But for an estimated 1 in six children and 1 in 20 adults, it can be serious enough to curtail daily activities.

Tikis cruising on the Fox River, company was started by a local couple

OSHKOSH – Cruisin’ Tikis is the newest addition on the Fox River. The company was started by a local couple, who were inspired by the concept after seeing the tiki on other waterways.
Cruisin’ Tikis is located in a variety of places outside of the state, but Joe and Tammy Lefeber are the first to launch a franchise in Wisconsin. The couple is first-time business owners and after Joe’s battle with cancer, they felt inspired to open the business.
The tiki tour last about two hours, customers can bring along any food and drinks. The tiki operates from the docks located at Fox River Brewing Co. Each tour can hosts up to six guests and children are welcome. Kids under 12 must wear a life jacket during the cruise...

OSHKOSH – The Oshkosh School District is launching a food truck that gives students of all abilities a chance to learn, and is described as the first of its kind in the United States.
The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) announced that it is debuting a new food truck that focuses on hands-on learning for students of all abilities. This food truck is described as the first of its kind in the country.
The food truck is called the Brewing Futures Mobile CAFE (Coaching Ability for Employment) and is a customized and fully accessible food truck. The truck will be seen at upcoming community events and businesses...
New North artwork represents Northeast Wisconsin WLUK
GREEN BAY -- A new piece of artwork aims to represent all the different people who call Northeast Wisconsin home.
Artist Gregory Frederic unveiled the artwork at the annual New North Summit at Lambeau Field Thursday.
It's part of the New North’s ongoing digital campaign, More YOU in NEW, designed to attract and retain talent to the area.
Frederic, who moved to Green Bay in 2013 from Haiti, says he was inspired by the many great things happening here and its four seasons.
“It’s more than football. The culture here is building and growing. The arts are popping up all over the place. It’s more than you think. People should know it," he said.
