Manitowoc Tool & Manufacturing building second facility

MANITOWOC -- Manitowoc Tool & Manufacturing is building a second facility on the city's west side.
City leaders say the company is planning a 42,500-square-foot building on the corner of Vits and West drives, in the I-43 Technology & Enterprise Campus. The new facility will allow for the expansion of warehousing and manufacturing operations.
MTM is a metal stamping, metal fabrication and tool and die facility, according to its website.
The city will be contributing to the project through a tax incremental financing district. A TIF district funnels property taxes to pay for infrastructure and other improvements...Economic Development Feature

McMahon designs newest clinic location for Neuroscience Group
McMAHON
APPLETON – McMahon, a full-service, professional engineering and architectural firm, is the designer of Appleton's new Neuroscience Group location on West Calumet Street in Appleton. The clinic was designed in an existing office building, previously occupied by an insurance company, and features both clinical areas for patients as well office space for staff.
The clinical areas, which opened to patients in January 2022, include a physical therapy gym and track, private treatment rooms and infusion rooms. The building has a serene forest theme throughout to help patients find peace of mind during their appointments.

UW-Green Bay to host STEM Family Day this weekend

GREEN BAY -- The Brown County STEM Innovation Center on the UW-Green Bay campus will be hosting its inaugural STEM Family Day on Saturday.
The event will provide high-energy, hands-on fun for the entire family, including robotics, rockets, arcade games, and more.
STEM Family Day will be held in the Innovation Center from 10:00 until 2:00 p.m. and food trucks will be on site.
Prior to the STEM Family Day event, at 9:15 a.m., JBS Foods will present a $250,000 gift dedicated to help with STEM Education in Brown County and Northeast Wisconsin. After the check presentation, the JBS STEM Resource Center will be unveiled.

DCEDC selects Michelle Lawrie as new Executive Director

DOOR COUNTY -- The Board of Directors of the Door County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) has selected Michelle Lawrie to be the next Executive Director of the organization, following a search throughout Wisconsin. Lawrie will replace Steve Jenkins, who left the organization in January. Lawrie will assume the role of Executive Director for DCEDC on May 9th, 2022.
Lawrie has more than twenty years of experience in economic development at regional and local levels. Her career in Washington, D.C., Arizona and Wisconsin has focused on serving the public interest through economic development, issue advocacy and coalition-building. Lawrie began her economic development career at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), in Phoenix, Arizona. After serving in several roles at GPEC, she became the President and CEO of the Western Maricopa Coalition (WESTMARC) in western Maricopa County, Arizona. Lawrie later also served as Economic Development / Community Development Director for the communities of Goodyear, Arizona and DeForest, Wisconsin.
