Metal and wood artist opens new shop in Oconto
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE
OCONTO – A 22-year-old who repurposes wood, antiques and heirlooms into something useful has now also revived a vacant building.
Bryce Hearley opened Scrap Yard Industrial Works, 1010 Pecor St., with the aid of a $10,000 microloan from Oconto County Economic Development Corporation.
“It’s going to give me a spot to really grow my business,” he said.
Hearley said he plans to turn his establishment into a metal arts and carpentry shop.... Sustainability and a sense of community define Green Bicycle Co.
SHEBOYGAN SUN SHEBOYGAN – While bikes are a big part of Green Bicycle Co., the downtown Sheboygan retailer is much more than a bike shop. It’s a multi-faceted business built around community and sustainability.
Owner Heather Cleveland describes the combination retail store and consulting firm as more of a lifestyle than a traditional business. “Green Bicycle Co. to me is like a way of life: sustainability, community, feedback, all the things that we do and care about.”
The name of the business is also multi-faceted: “When I was growing up, I had a green bicycle, and that concept stuck with me. It was a 1970s 10-speed Schwinn that wasn’t the coolest bike, but I kept that name because green is known for sustainability.”...

An independent bookstore and writing center set to open in Sheboygan, Wisconsin this month is the newest venture of an award-winning Minnesota educator and writer.
Kelly D. Holstine, a recipient of Education Minnesota's 2018 Minnesota State Teacher of the Year honor, is the owner and founder of WordHaven BookHouse.
Holstine is also an author, journalist, the owner of Equity 2.0 Consulting, and since being named Teacher of the Year also gave a Ted Talk.
Last year, amid life changes during the pandemic, she sold her St. Paul home and moved to Sheboygan on the shores of Lake Michigan — a place she'd stumbled upon while camping 24 years ago...
