New North Region Stepping Up to the COVID-19 Challenge New North businesses getting back on track Insight Publications One in six businesses nationwide closed in 2020 due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the nation is technically still in a recession, it is showing strong signs of recovery.
Closer to home, Wisconsin and the New North are seeing lots of optimism as the economy begins to rebound, said Jeff Sachse, interim director of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Center for Customized Research and Services. Tony Evers is touring the David A. Cofrin Library at UW-Green Bay as his administration recommends funding a new technology center to replace the decades-old building.
A $96.3 million Cofrin Technology and Education Center was one of several building projects recommended to the State Building Commission as part of the governor’s 2021-2023 Capital Budget.
