Here's a look inside the new Sheboygan Aurora Medical Center and details about when the hospital and medical offices will open

SHEBOYGAN - Construction of the new Aurora Medical Center - Sheboygan County at 3400 Union Ave. is complete and offices have begun moving in to the facility.
Construction started in 2019, and while some offices are moving in now and may open soon, the entire facility, including the hospital, is set to open in July.

Excitement builds as Mulva Cultural Center takes shape

DE PERE – As more and more white steel beams settle into place in the structure that will soon be the Mulva Cultural Center in De Pere, those behind the project carefully monitor their progress with an eye on completion in late summer 2023.
Funded by James and Miriam Mulva, designed by Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill, LLP (SOM) and being built by Mortenson, the 75,000-square-foot building is expected to have a sizable impact on the De Pere community.
The $95 million project hit a major milestone March 17 with its “topping-off” ceremony, as the last steel beam was placed at the top of the structure..

STURGEON BAY – Like child care centers across the country, the Barker Center in Sturgeon Bay closed when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. In summer 2020, leaders at the center – the only licensed group child care in the city – decided it couldn’t afford to reopen.
“That was catastrophic for a lot of families,” said Alexis Heim Peter, a member of the Door County Board of Supervisors, whose son attended the center. “Child care centers and licensed home providers are very scarce in Door County. Child care is necessary infrastructure, the same as bridges and highways.”...

Diocese of Green Bay helps resettle 125 Afghan refugees in the Greater Green Bay area

GREEN BAY — Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay has a longtime history of aiding refugees. Now, the diocese is helping Afghan refugees who were displaced by the Taliban takeover to resettle in the Greater Green Bay Area.
The diocese is an affiliate of the U.S Catholic Conference of Bishops and works with the national organization to act as a local resettlement agency. Since November, the diocese has received about 125 Afghan refugees

City of Kewaunee receives state harbor grant

You will find construction crews near Kewaunee’s Harbor Park soon thanks to a state grant. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced $9.4 million in Harbor Assistance Program (HAP) grants earlier this week. The bulk of the money went to five other projects in Milwaukee, Green Bay, LaCrosse, and Superior. The City of Kewaunee received $249,000 to replace pile cluster moorings along its dock wall near Harbor Park. Mayor Jason Jelinek says the grant dollars were critical for the city to receive.
The HAP grant was not the only one received by the city. Kewaunee also recently received a grant to allow city officials to plan what future improvements can be made to its marina. Jelinek says the city has to spend money every year to repair some of the docks that get damaged during the year...
