Here's how they're helping Wisconsinites save money on energy SHEBOYGAN PRESS SHEBOYGAN - Mindy and Ed Zinthefer started Arch Electric Solar from the back porch of their Plymouth farmhouse in 2003.
Over the last two years, the company tripled in size, from about 30 to 90 employees. Now, it's the largest full-service solar contractor in Wisconsin, according to RENEW Wisconsin, a nonprofit that promotes renewable energy.
Arch installed more than 99,000 solar panels, or about 30 megawatts of solar, in Wisconsin in 2021, including on 165 homes.

Food waste―common throwaways like banana peels, egg shells and coffee grounds―will soon be converted into a renewable energy source for a large campus building. The project, to be funded with a $339,000 grant from the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) Energy Innovation Program, will connect the UW Oshkosh Campus Services Center—home to its document services, facilities offices, postal services, shipping and receiving—to the adjacent dry anaerobic digester.
