Special Event Program announced for virtual New North event Insight Publications The program lineup for the first of three virtual events – from 8:30 to 10 a.m. this Thursday – leading up to the in-person New North Summit has been set.
Speakers include Missy Hughes, the secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.; Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy, who will discuss how the organization is investing in addressing racial inequity and its support of entrepreneurs; and Bryan Hollenbach, executive vice president of Green Bay Packaging, who will share an update on the company’s new Green Bay mill.
The event will also include a commercial real estate update from NAI Pfefferle Vice President Manny Vasquez, business development videos and more.
Following the event, attendees can participate in a virtual networking session on the Meetaway platform, provided by Insight Publications.

Encourage Educational Attainment New program looks to empower and support women in farming and land management WBAY GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A new program has launched to support and serve the growing number of female farmers and women managing land in Wisconsin. It’s called Wisconsin Women in Conservation, which is a three-year program led by groups like the Wisconsin Farmers Union. It is funded by the state office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
“I think we have some slowing down, some observation skills, and really that caring part, where we care for the land, and we’re not out just to make the highest profit per acre that we can, there’s other values that women have,” said Valerie Dantoin, a farmer herself and a Conservation Coach with the Wisconsin Women in Conservation.
The program is meant to promote stewardship through workshops, mentorships, and summits. For now, meetings are virtual.

"We're flying into Miami," said Lori Vosters. "Then renting a car and going to the keys."
Like many people at the Appleton International Airport, Lori and Dan Vosters are headed down South. The couple recently got both their doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
"We haven't gone to any bars or restaurants or anything," said Lori Vosters. "We took takeout, but this is our first outing."

Economic Development Feature Dept. of Workforce Development: Launches interactive map connecting job seekers to critical services WisBusiness MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is launching an interactive directory of services to connect Wisconsinites with workforce programs in their area. DWD works with partners across the state to offer critical services like career training and job search assistance.
The new Directory of Workforce Services provides information online by county for workforce programs provided by DWD, the Wisconsin Technical College System, local workforce development boards, and their contractors and partners.
“Whether they are administered by DWD, local workforce boards, technical colleges, or nonprofits, Wisconsin offers a lot of programs that help people successfully reach their employment goals,” DWD Secretary-designee Amy Pechacek said. “Workforce partners from across the state worked together to combine information about the various opportunities available and present them in one central location to make it easier for people to learn about and access them...
