What Tech Summit’s big firms want to see; emerging firms may apply through Feb. 27 WISCONSIN TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL
Major firms in sectors that include manufacturing, information technology, financial services, construction, automation, consumer products, food, health care, life sciences, design and engineered products will be on hand at the March 20 Wisconsin Tech Summit in Green Bay to meet with selected emerging companies.
Emerging companies must apply online by the end of Feb. 27 to be eligible for selection.
Here are summaries on the major firms that will engage in 15-minute “speed dates” in Green Bay’s Lambeau Field; the meetings are intended to introduce research, supply chain, investment and other strategic partnership ideas in a one-on-one setting....

SHEBOYGAN -- Fay Wingrove of Sheboygan has been part of the quest for women’s equality in business since starting her first business, Innovative Solutions for Business, in 1995.
“It is hard to believe, but when I graduated from college in 1983, women couldn’t take out business loans in their names. I was oblivious to that at the time, and had no idea that was a law, but it really was a ‘man’s world,’” she said.
It was less than 30 years ago when a woman who wanted a business loan was required, in many states, to provide a signature from a male relative. That didn’t change until 1988 when the Women’s Business Ownership Act, HR 5050, was passed into law...

SHEBOYGAN – Sheboygan County Accelerator for Learning Entrepreneurship, the new accelerator program partnership between the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation and Lakeland University, launches this week with its initial cohort of six companies.
