Fostering Diversity-Equity-Inclusion-Belonging 'They got closer': Census changes help correct historic undercount of Wisconsin's Indigenous population GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE ONEIDA - Coming from mixed ancestries, Brenda John always struggled with how to be accurately identified when filling out census questions.
"I’m Oneida, I’m also part non-Native," she said. "I don’t have the option to say both without going in to a generic mixed race bucket that can no longer be used for important things like grants for our community. NEENAH - Max Zeitler of Kaukauna and Clara Yoap of Coleman laced up their skates as the sun was setting at The Plaza at Gateway Park. Zeitler and Yoap began ice skating last year, so it's still a relatively new activity for them. This was their first time at The Plaza, downtown Neenah's newest attraction. "I don't really go a whole lot," Yoap said, hanging onto the railing at the edge of the ice. "I'm very shaky. I'm very thankful they have the bar the whole way around."..
