More than $420,000 in grants awarded to Wisconsin veteran organizations

More than a dozen organizations that help Wisconsin veterans and their families across the state will receive grants, including two in Northeast Wisconsin.
Gov. Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) announced $424,970 in grants to 13 nonprofit organizations Thursday.

Waupun council hears requests for ARPA funding: Many needs identified for limited resource

WAUPUN – While Waupun’s allocation of $1.17 million in COVID relief funds may be large, needs are far greater.
The Waupun Common Council heard from individuals and community groups about how those funds, allocated by the federal American Rescue Plan Act, could be spent on Tuesday night at City Hall. About a dozen people appeared, some to observe and some to request money for specific causes.
“It’s like answering the question, ‘What would you do if you won a million dollars, except there are a whole lot of things that you can’t use it for,’” Waupun City Administrator/Director of Economic Development Kathy Schlieve said in August....

Fox Cities Chamber changes its PULSE Young Professionals (YP) membership to free; announces new corporate YP certification program

FOX CITIES -- With a new year comes some exciting new changes for the Fox Cities Chamber’s PULSE Young Professionals. The Chamber has announced that membership in its YP program is now free. Additionally, they have launched a corporate “Champion of Young Professionals” program.
“PULSE is free in ’23!” said Jodie Federwitz, director of PULSE. “We will no longer be charging a membership fee for our PULSE Young Professionals group. His speech scaled humanity's own Everest, stretching from Ancient Egypt to Birmingham, Alabama, conferring with figures from Plato to Lincoln, underscoring social movements from the Emancipation Proclamation to the Memphis sanitation strike, the protest that brought him back to Tennessee.
