Sheboygan native to head Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions

SHEBOYGAN -- A Sheboygan native has been named to be the director of the Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions, under the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. The announcement was made on Tuesday by DFI Secretary-designee Cheryll Olson-Collins.

Plymouth retail project a blueprint for public-private partnerships

SHEBOYGAN – A public-private partnership to redevelop the historic Cheese Counter and Dairy Heritage Center in downtown Plymouth concluded in December with the city of Plymouth buying the building at 133 E. Mill St. for $1.
The Cheese Counter was transferred to the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation in 2016 to qualify for historic tax credits that were reinvested in the vacant building. The SCEDC owned the building for five years under an agreement with the city, while the Plymouth Redevelopment Authority directed its restoration.....

GREEN BAY -- A De Pere-area company is opening offices in Green Bay's Broadway District.
Trucking company Paper Transport says it has obtained two new locations. The first is within Base Companies, 340 N. Broadway. Part of the Rail Yard Innovation District, they will house more than 50 employees.
Paper Transport also plans to renovate the former Larsen Canning Company building, 540 N. Broadway. When finished, it will have room for 100 Paper Transport employees...

GREEN BAY -- Nearly 50 utility workers from Northeast Wisconsin are in California, working to restore power for tens of thousands of people after a series of strong storms.
The Wisconsin Public Service and We Energies crews are part of a mutual aid effort to help Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) address outages from storms, flooding and mudslides.

Give BIG Green Bay gets bigger with $500K match

GREEN BAY -- A 24-hour fundraising drive for local non-profits, known as Give BIG Green Bay, could be a lot bigger in its 6th year.
This year, Give BIG Green Bay will have a pool of $500,000 to match donations that come in during the fundraiser. The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation announced a $250,000 grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation triggered a boost from other community donors.
Give BIG Green Bay starts at noon on Tuesday, February 21, and continues until noon on Wednesday, February 22. Last year’s drive raised almost $2.5 million from 4,391 donors. It’s raised almost $8 million for non-profits in its first 5 years....
