Everyone has those times that they fear they don't have what it takes to succeed at their goals, or that they are inferior to others because they don't have some illusive talent.

Well, whether you have a particular talent or not doesn't matter. >>>

So, what does Steve Martin, a comedian, have in common with Stephen King, a horror author?

The advice would be the same from a great many successful people.  Be persistent and work at it regardless of whether you feel talented, able, or not.  If you can dream it, you can work toward it.
