2014 Chateau de la Greffiere Macon La Roche-Vineuse Blanc Vieilles Vignes Burgundy, France
The village of La Roche Vineuse (meaning vinous rock) appropriately named for the bevy of limestone found in the vineyards, is located in the heart of the Mâconnais, and captures its true “terroir”. Vines here average about 50 years old, and really showcase the limestone they grow in. Balancing richness and and electric acidity its shows the best of what the Mâconnais is capable of in a great year like 2014.
