2015 M. Sokolin
Rufete
Castilla y Leon, Spain

Pioneer winemaker Mitchell Sokolin just released the second vintage of his Spanish Red. It is spectacular! If you like an elegant Pinot Noir and the fresh sense of Gamay, we highly advise you pick up a 6pack or two before our small allocation is gone!
Rufete is a rare, unique varietal which is a cousin to Pinot Noir. Many centuries ago, Burgundian settlers transported the Noirene grape to Sierra de Francia. It adapted to the mountains, high above the city of Salamanca, and became Rufete.
The vineyard is located within the Reserva Biosfera de la Sierra de Francia y Bejar, and like much of the region is surrounded by dense oak forests. It has been farmed organically and certified as such since its was planted and the winemaking follows a very minimalist approach. Approximately 50 cases were bottled in, unfined and unfiltered. Produced entirely without the use of pumps.
2015 Envinate Benje
Listan Negro, Tintilla
Canary Islands, Spain

Envínate (meaning 'wine yourself') is the brainchild of four friends who met while studying enology at the University of Miguel Hernández in Alicante. Their work is currently focused in exploring the ancient, Atlantic-infused terroirs of Extremadura, Ribeira Sacra, and the Canary Islands. Their philosophy is simple; let each 'parcela' or single parcel, fully express itself by utilizing old-fashioned farming and wine-making methods. To this end, no chemicals are used in any of the Envínate vineyards, all parcels are picked by hand, the grapes are foot-trodden, and the wines are fermented exclusively with wild yeasts, with a varying proportion of whole clusters included. Typically alcohol levels are kept at 13 degrees or below. For aging, the wines are raised in old barrels with sulfur added only at bottling. The results are some of the most distinctive and exciting wines being produced in Spain today.
2015 Bow & Arrow Rhinestones
Gamay, Pinot Noir
Oregon, USA

Inspired by the wines of the Loire Valley, Dana and Scott Frank set out to turn Oregon's "Pinotstocracy" on it's head. Semi-carbonic maceration, minimal punchdowns, no racking, and aging in old barrique for 10 months before finishing in tank leaves us with a super fresh Red!

2015 Bow & Arrow Air Guitar
Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon
Oregon, USA

This has terrific freshness with black and red currant, violets, blueberry, wood char, and damp earth on the nose, juicy, crunchy red fruits in the mouth with some blue fruit undertones, a spiciness, and nice, layered texture. Fittingly for a Loire Valley style wine this is a mid-weight, mouthwatering wine.
