Drink outside the box with this Burgundy style Italian Red! Marco de Grazia makes these wines on behalf of his daughter, Eli, who designs the labels. A sizeable percentage of the profits from this venture are directed to the pediatrics department at the Florence hospital. This wine is produced from all the vineyards of the estate on the northern slope of Mount Etna, and shows plenty of Etna character. This very appealing wine is already delicious but has the potential to age.

2013 Le Vigne di Eli Etna Rosso 98% Nerello Mascalese, 2% Nerello Cappuccio Sicily, Italy
$24 bottle / 2 for $43
Approximately 50 year old vines of 98% Nerello Mascalese & 2% Nerello Cappuccio. From Volcanic soil and vineyards on the northern slope of Mount Etna, this is like a Sicilian Burgundy! Beautiful ruby red color with huge perfumes and elegance, the Etna Rosso is a delicate wine with fresh red fruit, herbs, crushed flowers and mineral notes. The mouthfeel is fine and graceful, the acidity is pleasant, and the tannins are silky. Best served cellar temperature! |

89 Points - Wine Enthusiast "Aromas of red berry, thyme, mint and orange peel come together in the glass, while the vibrant palate offers crushed strawberry, crunchy red cherry and cinnamon. Bright acidity and firm but fine tannins provided support." |
