Over the years, there are a number of myths I’ve heard and believed in regard to healing from sexual abuse. Maybe some of these are familiar to you:
• The healing comes with time
• It’s not such a big deal
• To heal I’d have to relive the pain
• I would have to remember what happened in order to heal it
