Mary Magdalene teaches us that Hope is surrender to…
... God’s love for you.
Notice what hope is "not" in her definition. There is no straining for the seemingly unachievable. She is not suggesting you hope the Divine will fix things for you or change your reality.
She suggests the shackles drop off, and potential is born in the experience of Divine love. |

Of course “God” means many things to many people, and you might find it more comfortable to replace the word God with Divine Consciousness, Universal Wisdom, the Mystery, or whatever resonates with your heart.
That said, to honor Mary Magdalene’s exact words, this is how she explains hope:

Hope is found when you surrender to God’s love for you. When immersed in this love, worries and doubts leave you. This creates an opening through which God’s will is made known to you.
In this love, struggle ends and you are free to enjoy wellness through an extended life or deliverance into God’s hands on the other side—all in accordance with God’s will. So, enrapt in God’s love, either reality is a blessing in grace.

While she is specifically talking about healing here, it applies to all areas of life. To live in hope is to live struggle-free, immersed in Divine love.
She has also given us a definition for surrender, hasn’t she?

We might call hope or surrender …
… falling into love’s embrace.
While you are about your weekend tasks, you might consider the ways in which you could allow yourself to fall deeply into love’s embrace, and notice for yourself if life feels more hopeful.
