Subject: Where Faith Meets Civic Engagement

Join Our First Virtual Session of NCC Freedom Academy!

Join us for the inaugural session of the NCC Freedom Academy on Sunday, July 7, at 6 p.m. ET. Rev. Stephen A. Green, pastor of The Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York, will lead a virtual discussion titled, "The Spirit of the Lord Is upon Me — Sacred Spirituality of Freedom/Theology of Freedom," based on Luke 4:14–15 in a Sunday school-style Bible study.

This session is the first installment of a six-part series running July 7 — August 11, focusing on civic engagement through a faith-based lens. Each week, diverse faith leaders will guide participants through a tailored curriculum, offering insights and theological grounding from the biblical teachings of Luke 4.

Invite at least five friends or colleagues to join this enriching experience. Spread the word and engage in meaningful discussions about freedom, spirituality, and civic responsibility.

We also invite you to support NCC Freedom Summer efforts such as this by contributing to NCC Freedom Summer’s “$60 for 60” campaign and helping NCC reach communities and apply the teachings of Freedom Academy across the country to register, train, and mobilize people of faith.

Mark your calendars for July 7 and don't miss this opportunity to learn and grow together in faith and civic engagement with the NCC Freedom Academy! We are excited to connect with you to unpack the Word of God and grow as change agents in our communities.

By the Grace of God,

Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie
