The NCC will host a "Voting Matters" workshop at Ecumenical Advocacy Days for Global Peace with Justice (EAD) 2024 Spring Summit at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Crowne Plaza Crystal City-Washington, D.C., just outside of the nation’s capital. The session will discuss the newly released "Voting Matters 2024 Election Empowerment Guide," highlighting the importance of preparing people of faith to participate in civic engagement and voice their values through voting. Rev. Adam Russell Taylor, President of Sojourners and Rev. Dr. Leslie Copeland-Tune, NCC Senior Associate General Secretary and Advocacy Director, will lead the session.
There is still time to register for the EAD 2024 Spring Summit, which is gathering aroundthe theme, “Faith in Action: Advancing Human Rights and Peace for All,” and hear from notable speakers including Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, NCC President and General Secretary, and Rev. Teresa "Terri" Hord Owens, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and NCC Governing Board Member.
