OFFERS & OPPORTUNITIES
No Budget Film School's Summer Internship Program is Back!
I'm in pre-production on a new micro-budget feature that I hope to start shooting this Summer, and I'm looking for some great interns who are eager to learn!

This is the return of a successful program I held back in 2008 for my feature film Pig.  That film went on to play over 35 international festivals, win 10 awards, and garner distribution around the world. My amazing interns contributed in numerous ways; one even eventually became the co-producer of the film and is running a successful production company now.

I'm looking for serious candidates ONLY. You must be in Los Angeles for the next several months. Full-time and part-time commitments welcome, in a number of different disciplines. You tell me what you can do and what you want to learn.

If you're interested, please fill out the application form. There are no guarantees that I will be able to hire you--this will be a very small shoot and the number of intern spots is very limited-- but this will be a great opportunity to learn the fine art of no-budget filmmaking in practice.

CLASSES
NEW CLASS CANCELLED (Sadly)

Unfortunately, I've had to cancel my previously-announced Upper-Level Coursework Weekend, which I had hoped to present June 6-7. My mother had an unexpected health issue, (she's much better now), and I had to spend several weeks in North Carolina taking care of things. With that and my new film, I didn't have time to finish building it and marketing it, so I've decided to postpone it for a later date.

I should be teaching my regular class, The Art & Science of No-Budget Filmmaking this Fall, along with Tom Provost's Cinema Language, and we'll likely schedule this all-new weekend sometime after that. Very sorry!
FILMS YOU SHOULD SEE
LIFE INSIDE OUT

Now Out on DVD & VOD

I've mentioned this terrific little movie before. Life Inside Out is a no-budget film I had the pleasure of consulting on.  After a successful Kickstarter campaign, they shot the film and quickly became festival darlings, winning more than 10 awards, most of them audience awards. This is one of those crowd-pleasing indies that isn't edgy enough for Sundance or Indiewire, and isn't big enough to get a huge release. The kind of film you catch on TV or Netflix and say, "Wow, that was good! Why didn't I hear about it?"

Well, now you've heard about it, and fortunately, there are plenty of ways to view the film now. You can buy the DVD on Amazon, (it would make a great Mother's Day gift), you can rent the DVD on Netflix, you can rent or purchase it online on Vimeo, and you can learn more about the film from their website.
