Robert Machoian's $60k Indie Sensation
The Killing Of Two Lovers!
September 20th • 5pm PDT (8pm EDT)
It's been awhile, but No Budget Confidential is back! You remember No Budget Confidential, right? It's where I invite a successful no-budget filmmaker on for a no holds barred, no secrets kept, leave it all on the table breakdown of the making of their feature film. We take you through their entire process, start to finish, then we open it up for questions from you, the audience.
I'm incredibly excited about this next episode. I've been trying to get Robert Machoian on for months, ever since I saw his incredible film The Killing Of Two Lovers on the big screen at the Landmark theater in West LA back in May. In fact, it was the first film I saw in a theater since before COVID. And it didn't disappoint. I was frankly blown away. I wasn't the only one. The film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, (no small feat for a $60k indie), and was picked up for distribution by Neon, one of the top indie distributors in the business. The film was also nominated for the prestigious Cassavetes Award at the 2021 Spirit Awards, given to the best feature made for under $500k.
