| | | | No Budget Film School's Summer Internship Program is Back! |
| I'm in pre-production on a new low-budget feature that I start shooting on June 4th, and I'm looking for some great interns who are eager to learn!
This is the third time for this program, which I started with my feature film Pig, and then did again last summer for my film DriverX. On both films, my amazing interns contributed in numerous ways; on Pig, one even eventually became the co-producer of the film and is running a successful production company now.
This new film, Devil's Whisper, is a little different than the last two. It's a bigger budget, shot in a more conventional way, but we're still trying to pull it off for less than you would imagine, and it should be a great opportunity for someone who wants to get on set and work with some experienced people, on a low-budget film.
I'm looking for serious candidates ONLY. You must be in Los Angeles for the month of June. Full-time and part-time commitments welcome, in a number of different areas. You tell me what you can do and what you want to learn.
If you're interested, please fill out the application form. There are no guarantees that I will be able to bring you on--the number of intern positions is very limited-- but this should be a lot of fun and a great learning experience. |
| | | | | | "THE ART & SCIENCE OF NO-BUDGET FILMMAKING"
August 20-21, 2016 • Los Angeles, CA
No Budget Film School is back in LA! I'm teaching my famed "Art & Science" class again this August, and this will be the only time I teach it in LA for 2016. This is my flagship class that I've been teaching for 11 years now. If you're ready to make your own film, with the resources currently available to you, (no fundraising necessary), then this is the class for you. My guest speakers and I will teach you what you need to know, and you'll get plenty of inspiration as well. And unlike an online class or a Youtube video, you might be sitting next to your future collaborator.
As you know, I offer my faithful Subscribers--YOU--a discount on these classes of 20%. From time to time I bump this discount up to make this affordable class even more affordable, (I mean, it's called NO BUDGET Film School, after all). So, for a limited time, when you use your SUBS discount code, you'll get 25% off the regular prices, (that's $187.50!). Because I'm offering Early Bird pricing, the combined discounts make this a great deal. I haven't named all my guest speakers yet, but rest assured, I will bring in some great folks.
If you want the 25% off, don't delay. Click the button below and the discount will be applied to the ticket prices automatically.

| | | | "CINEMA LANGUAGE: THE ART OF STORYTELLING"
August 27-28, 2016 • Los Angeles, CA
The weekend following my "Art & Science" class, filmmaker and Pepperdine screenwriting professor Tom Provost teaches his fantastic Cinema Language class. My class will teach and inspire you to make a film for little or no money; Tom's class will show you how to make it as good as it can be, regardless of budget. Tom is a successful screenwriter, editor and director, but he's also an amazing instructor, and this class is a blast. If you love great movies, but always wondered what made them great, what filmmakers were doing under the hood to get the most effective results, Tom will show you. And if you take both weekends, in a addition to saving money, you'll get a free one-on-one consultation with either Tom or I.
I'm offering the same 25% discount to Cinema Language. Just use the SUBS code or click the button below and the prices will show the discount automatically.
We hope to see you in both classes in August!

| | | | | | 10 (Final?) Tips To A Better Kickstarter Campaign
For those of you who asked me to post this article that I sent out last month, it's now on my (shitty) website.
If you're planning a crowdfunding campaign, check out all three articles I've written on the subject, (the other two are referenced in this article).
I was thrilled to raise my goal and then some on this recent campaign, my third Kickstarter campaign. We ultimately raised over $40,000 and are now finishing up the editing and getting ready to do some test screenings, an integral part of the editing process in my book.
