| For only the second time ever, I'm bringing my show to New York, (I will refrain from cliched comments about Broadway or The Big Apple!). I will be presenting my signature class, "The Art & Science of No-Budget Filmmaking" on October 15-16, 2016, and again will be hosted by Actors Connection. I taught my class there back in 2013 and had a great time, with wonderful guest speakers and an enthusiastic group of attendees.

| | Once again, I will be joined by great guest speakers. I'm excited to have Leah Meyerhoff, the writer/director of the multi-award winning feature film I Believe In Unicorns, which premiered at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival and was released in 2015 by Gravitas Ventures. Leah is not only a talented filmmaker, but she's also the founder of Film Fatales, a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of more films by and about women. We'll discuss the making of her film, as well as the distribution and social media strategy behind its release, (her Facebook page for the film has over 162,000 likes!!). She's been a programmer and a festival jurist many times, and so we'll also talk about what festivals are looking for in a film. |
| | I'm thrilled to mention the recent successes of two of my 2013 NYC students. Remy Auberjonois was a long-time actor who attended my class and then put together a feature called Blood Stripe. That film premiered at the 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival and ultimately won the U.S. Fiction Award! |
| | | Bari Kang took that same 2013 class in New York and then went out to make and star in his feature Lucky. That film just premiered at the Urbanworld Film Festival and won the Audience Award! |
