Subject: Ditch the Workday Slump: Small Changes Make a Big Impact!

Hey Friend, listen up!

The average person spends A LOT of time at work each year! How much is a lot, you ask? Let’s break it down together...

⏰ Full-Time (40 hrs/week) → 2,080 hours/year
☕ Let's Include 2 Weeks Vacation & Holidays → 1,920 hours/year
🎈 Part-Time (20 hrs/week) → 1,040 hours/year
🔥 Overachievers (50+ hrs/week) → 2,500+ hours/year

If you are working 2,000 hours a year, you should be doing what you love! Whether you're building a business or making the most of your current role, adding joy to your day is key! Here are some tips to keep the momentum going whether you're running your own business or thriving in your current job:

  1. Create a "Mood Boosting" Playlist – Build a playlist full of songs that get you in the zone, make you smile, or make you dance a little. Music can be a powerful motivator!

  2. Take Creative Breaks – Step away from the grind by doing something creative for 5-10 minutes, whether it's doodling, journaling, or even playing with a stress ball. Doing this will refresh your mind and boost your creativity.

  3. Dress for Success (or Comfort) – Wear something that makes you feel good, whether it's a power suit or cozy sweatpants. Dressing for your mood can influence your energy!

  4. Use Fun Visuals – Spruce up your workspace with inspirational quotes, colorful stationery, or even a small plant. A pleasant environment can make work more enjoyable.

  5. Gamify Your Day – Turn tasks into little challenges or set time goals. Treat yourself to a mini reward after completing a task (even something as simple as a cup of tea or a walk).

  6. Host or Attend Virtual Events – Celebrate even the tiniest accomplishments with a quick "cheers" or a fun chat with colleagues or friends. If you're a member of the NNBA, join our weekly lives on Tuesdays or our virtual member events such as Coffee and Conversations this Tuesday, February 25th!

  7. Lunch Break Adventure – Don’t just settle for the same old lunch spot every day. Use your break time to try something new, even if it's just a different park or coffee shop nearby.

  8. Collaborate with Your Circle – Find ways to connect with others—share ideas, collaborate on projects, or brainstorm new opportunities. Collaboration can keep things fresh and fun. If you're looking for a way to connect with like minded nurses and business owners, join the NNBA and network with people who empower, support, and share your passion for building something meaningful. Being part of a community makes all the difference!

  9. Add Play to Your Productivity Tools – Use apps or tools that have fun features, like custom backgrounds for meetings, digital sticky notes with jokes, or productivity trackers with fun progress bars.

  10. Remember the "Why" – Keep in mind the bigger purpose behind your work or business. When you remember why you started, it can help you stay motivated, and it makes the work feel more meaningful.
