Assalamu Alaykum Friend,

As our cities continue experiencing lockdowns in these few weeks, I want to remind you that you don’t have to struggle alone.

I have been humbled with the opportunity to continue working and supporting Muslims in need throughout Australia with my team at NZF. Recently, I worked with many of our service partners, such as Regents Parks Musallah and Australian Islamic House, to provide families, international students and employees in isolation with food packs and support suited to their needs.

Here’s a message I wanted to share with you from our recent rounds.

Caring Connections Program

This initiative is one of the many that I hold dear to my heart as the story behind this program stems from my own experiences with families, parents and young people within my circles. I’ve known people whose lives have been turned upside down after finding out that they, or a loved one, have been diagnosed with serious illnesses.

Even with the increasing numbers of people in our community suffering from the emotional and financial effects of these illnesses, I think it's still rare to find support groups that connect our brothers, sisters and their families to the community and appropriate services they need. This is why we decided to start the Caring Connections Program.
