The start of a new campaign is always meant to be an exciting time. But this sort of campaign is one we’d rather not be doing.
The sad truth is though that our work in this area continues to be needed and continues to be crucial. I am of course talking about Family & Domestic Violence (FDV).
Alhamdulillah, we have come some way as a community in beginning to deal with the ugliness of DV. But there is still a long way to go.
FDV in our community is still often swept under the rug, making it difficult for vulnerable victims to receive the help they need.
It is our collective responsibility to both shine a light on the plight of victims and to show caring, concerned Muslims the extent of the problem, and how to help us deal with it. |
