Assalamu Alaykum Friend,
Have you thought about what you'll be doing with your Zakat Al-Fitr this year?
To recap, Zakat Al-Fitr is an obligatory, small charity we must give at the end of Ramadan and which is directed to those in need.
Zakat Al-Fitr should reach those in need before the Eid prayer, otherwise it is not accepted and is considered a missed obligation. The spirit of Zakat Al-Fitr is to ensure that everyone in our local community can celebrate Eid with us and no one is left out. And this fits in perfectly with NZF mission - to ensure no Muslim is ever left out and behind.
As per ANIC, $12 per person is the amount per person for Zakat Al-Fitr in Australia this year. It is to be paid for all members in your household including children.
NZF Australia accepts Zakat Al-Fitr and helps you fulfill your obligation right here in Australia. We distribute your Zakat Al-Fitr to families, widows and orphans that deserve it the most and are financially in need here in Australia, so they may also enjoy Eid along with us.
Let us show those who are struggling around us that we care, and that Eid is a time when we want to reach out and make them feel like they are part of our community and even if temporary, they are afforded at least this one day of joy and hope insha Allah.
Wassalam, The NZF Team |
