Assalamualaikum

We are officially in the last 10 nights of Ramadan now Alhamdulillah. The nights among which one night is worth more than a 1000 months - Laylat-ul-Qadr.

The last 10 nights are our busiest nights of the year. Why? Because people are rushing to pay their Zakat & Sadaqah to maximise their rewards during this time.

See below as to how you can benefit from this too.

Pay your Zakat
If you haven't paid your Zakat & don't have a Zakat anniversary yet, pick one of the last 10 nights as your Zakat anniversary, calculate and pay your Zakat.

Pay your Zakat-ul-Fitr
Zakat-ul-Fitr is $12 per person. It is due on all persons in your household, including children. To ensure we are able to distribute all of the Fitr before Eid prayers, the earlier you pay your Zakat-ul-Fitr the better.

Daily Sadaqah
If you have completed your Zakat obligations, take advantage of these last 10 nights to maximise your Sadaqah by supporting NZF to expand our Zakat education, collection & distribution services. This is a means for you to uphold a Pillar of Islam.

Sign up to just 10 daily automatic payments of as little as $3 per day.

Voices from Our Community - Daily Series
"Is Zakat needed in Australia" is still a question we hear often. Join us on our Facebook page as we have a daily 15 minute live series discussing one case where your Zakat is currently being used locally. Join the discussion, ask questions and recognise the need & obligation we have here in Australia so you may make the best use of these last 10 nights.

➡️ Daily 9.30 PM - 9.45 PM Melbourne Time

Why is paying Zakat locally the better option?
Did you know that local Zakat collection & distribution was the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)? Further, all four Imam's from the Shafi, Hanafi, Hanbali and Maliki Madhabs have preferred local distribution. Watch the below video to understand more and why local Zakat is the better option for you.

How effective is your Zakat if not paid locally?
Lastly, just something to reflect on. We have received 126 new cases for assistance just this Ramadan. That is at least 6 cases every single day. This includes 11 Single parents, Widows or Orphans, 10 Refugees, 18 people who were either homeless or needed housing assistance, and more.

The role of Zakat is to enable us as a community to be there for these brothers and sisters at their time of need.

If we aren't fulfilling this role, then are we paying our Zakat effectively?
