COVID-19 led to a surge in demand for help from us. Here is how we responded

What a last few months it has been for our team! The global pandemic has been - without exaggeration for once - an unprecedented event.

We wanted to share with you what we’ve seen in the community and what we’ve done.

A surge in demand of people needing our help: The number of people needing our services a month has doubled, as the below details. 

A surge in distributions of Zakat: the numbers below tell the story!
COVID-19 has also created a lot of uncertainty in the community. It has created need, anxiety and hardship. It has meant people don’t have enough to buy essentials such as food, to pay bills, and more. 

Helping those who fall through the net: Truly, the hikmah (wisdom) of locally distributed Zakat has shown itself again this year. There are many who we help who fall through the gaps in the welfare system and are not eligible for Centrelink. These brothers and sisters are among the most needy in our community. They need you to be there at this time. Consider helping them in this time of need by directing your Zakat locally through us this year.
