Welcome January 2023

Assalmu Alaykum Friend,

As I reflect on another Gregorian year that has passed, I am excited with all our activities and initiatives maturing and I am optimistic in enhancing them further in the coming year insha Allah.

Even though a new Gregorian year is just another year that should carry no particular significance in the believers calendar, it’s worth taking advantage of the opportunity to provide an annual update and plans for the next year.

Let me start about our core work. We have assisted 2547 members of our community; we have distributed a total of $2,154,594 zakat; we ran over 30 zakat education sessions; we provided over 100 individual Zakat calculation sessions. We have connected with 69 Service Partners that help us provide an end to end service. We are establishing these programs in order to start working on the root causes of the issues affecting our community.

The work is only just beginning, please keep us in your duas for Allah to help us and keep us steadfast to make a success of these programs in order to benefit not only our current generation, but for generations to come.

Back to School

This January our Back to School program will be running again, the 10th year of this program.

Over $450,000 will be distributed to eligible families to provide their children with a strong start to the 2023 academic year.

Look out for further details on this Program in the coming days.

Al Siraat College Students

On December 8th, we had Al Siraat College year 10 students visit our NZF office in Melbourne. They were participating in a community service program that required them to do volunteer work. Our NZF team (Br Munir, Sr Nabila and Sr Mujde) were happy to accommodate them.

The students were divided into three groups of five. Each group was responsible for organising a real event that will take place throughout the year.

Reflections
