Salaam Friend,
Many in the community are understandably concerned about how COVID-19 affects them. I wanted to personally take this chance to advise that you are not alone and I am keen to do whatever we can to help.
NZF Australia is better equipped than most others to support those who face hardship because given recent events. To make it easy for you to understand the practical steps that can be taken, we've put together some information about how we can help, as well as some practical steps we can all take to ensure our safety and the safety of those around us. Check it out at: nzf.org.au/zakat-covid-19 If the coronavirus has left you in a vulnerable situation, I know it may be a very challenging time financially, practically and emotionally. In such a case I encourage you to reach out to us at 1300 663 729 and we will do our very best to assist.
We ask Allah to keep you and your loved ones in good health and to safeguard our community. Ameen. It is indeed a great blessing that the Zakat we have collected can be used to assist those who pass the Islamic threshold of needy categories in such circumstances.
On that note, and to continue our aim of educating the community on Zakat and how it is such a transformative pillar of Islam (including at times like this!), we'll be continuing to hold our Zakat Workshops and announcing an exclusive online Zakat workshop soon, insha Allah.
I leave you with some advice from Sheikh Sajid Umar on Jumuah and congregational prayers generally during this ongoing crisis. I trust it benefits. Watch here: https://youtu.be/zRwQcvqD9OE
