Asalamu Alaykum warahamatullahi wa barakatuhu Friend
Today is a blessed day - in fact a day of blessing upon blessing. We wanted to share with you some important reminders in this regard.
Today is a jumu'ah (Friday) within ten of the best days of the Islamic calendar: these great days of Dhul Hijjah.
The blessings of Friday are best encapsulated in a famous hadith in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it, Adam was created and on it he was sent down (to earth), on it, his repentance was accepted (by Allah), on it, he died and on it, the Hour will be established. And every moving creature is listening on Friday, from the time awakes in the morning, until the sun rises, due to fear of the Hour, except the jinn and mankind, and on this day, there is a time when, if a Muslim slave prays to Allah and asks Him, He will give him what he asked for.” (Muwatta Imam Malik)
Of the most important things to do on jumu'ah is du'a and Sadaqah (charity).
You are probably doing things already to make the most of these great 10 days. But if you've hesitated to give that extra portion of sadaqah, or held it back for whatever reason, today is a day to give.
As we told you the other day, these are the days in which Allah (swt) loves good deeds done more than any other time of the year. You are probably wondering whether this includes "Ramadan too?!" and the incredible answer is yes. Which goes to show you the power of these days.
So Friend do your best to increase in Sadaqah today insha Allah
Zakat in these blessed days
If you have missed Zakat in the last few years and need to make it up, this is also a good time to pay it. Or of course if your Zakat anniversary falls within these days, then that applies all the more! Zakat in these days will carry extra reward given how blessed they are and given that Allah (swt) loves good deeds performed in these days so much more.
We ask Allah to reward you for your Sadaqah and Zakat, and hope you are making good use of these immense days!
