Assalamualaikum Friend,
We're half way through Ramadan Alhamdulillah. Many of us can feel the famous "Ramadan slump" kicking in. We're reading lesser Qur'an. Waking up a little later for Suhoor. Making fewer dua. Giving lesser in charity...
Let's see what some famous scholars said in relation to this! |
"When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race. Do not allow the race horse to be more clever than you. For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn't do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell."
"The lesson lies in perfection of the conclusion of a thing, not in the shortcomings of the beginning of it."
“Improve your performance in what is left (of time) and you will be forgiven for that which has already passed. So take special care of the time you have left because you do not know when your soul will be turned over to Allah’s Mercy.”

If you need any more reasons to step your Ramadan game up, read about Rabia - our sister here in Australia that we are currently assisting at NZF. |

Meet Rabia - a recent refugee from Syria |
Rabia looks around her. The clean air, the birds chirping, the absence of gun-fire. Alhamdulillah she had made it to Australia along with her husband and 4 kids. They had made it out of Syria to the land of promises – Australia.
But it wasn’t easy. Abdullah is now disabled, in bed and needs medical attention. Everything here is very expensive. They said the government would pay for everything, but they barely covered the rent for her 1 bedroom apartment.

| So don't slow down now. Make the best of the remaining few days in Ramadan. Increase in your charity. Increase in your night prayers. Increase in your dua to your Creator. Increase in your reading of the Qur'an.
